Prepare for a State-of-the-Art Experience

Dental technology is always changing. With new devices making it easier for dentists to provide more efficient, comfortable, and accurate procedures, patients at Skyline Dental can expect nothing but the best. Dr. Henkin closely monitors these advancements to ensure she uses and incorporates state-of-the-art technologies to improve patient satisfaction. Below are some of the different devices we use in-house to make your visit more successful.

Intraoral Camera

The naked eye cannot be the only thing dentists rely on to identify and diagnose oral health issues. With our intraoral camera, however, we can capture a more detailed view of your mouth. The handheld, camera-tipped scanner projects real-time images on a nearby monitor so that you can see what Dr. Henkin sees. As she scans your mouth, she will indicate any areas of concern and provide a detailed explanation as to why restorative treatment may be necessary to improve your oral health.

Dental X-Rays

Since Dr. Henkin can only see what exists above the gumline, she needs enhanced imaging to view what lies beneath these soft oral tissues. Cracks, infection, and decay can begin in these areas, and with dental X-rays, we can pinpoint problems with optimal precision. Instead of relying on a darkroom for image development, which can take a long time, these updated scans are available in minutes. Also, thanks to advancements in X-ray technology, these emit far less radiation, making them safer for patients of all ages.

Digital Impression System

To create custom restorations, patients were once required to bite down on cold, messy dental putty to capture an impression. All of that has changed now that Dr. Henkin uses a digital impression system. We no longer need to cause patients distress with dental putty; instead, we scan the mouth to generate a 3D model. This new virtual impression can then be used to craft a custom-made dental crown or similar restoration with superior accuracy and comfort.

DentaPen

Receiving local anesthesia or any injection at the dentist’s office is unlikely to be enjoyable. When too much fluid is administered to a small area of the gums, pain can be the result. To minimize distress and discomfort, we rely on DentaPen, a device that delivers an anesthetic at a slower, more even pace. Instead of waiting for the uncomfortable pinch you might normally feel, you will experience virtually no discomfort as you prepare for your procedure.

DentalVibe

If a fear of injections keeps you from seeking necessary dental care, Dr. Henkin has a solution: DentalVibe. Often used in tandem with DentaPen, DentalVibe sends small vibrations into your mouth before, during, and after an injection, creating a numbing effect. As a result, you will feel no discomfort during treatment. When paired with DentaPen, you will no longer struggle with the idea of receiving an injection while in the dentist’s chair.

Perio Flow

Perio Flow is a comfortable way to treat gum disease and clean periodontal pockets formed by bacterial accumulation. Using a stream of water, we can more comfortably and effectively remove harmful bacteria from these small spaces. What you will be left with is healthier gum tissue that is less likely to incur further damage in the future.

In-Office Dental Lab

Waiting for dental crowns, bridges, and veneers from an outside dental lab takes time and multiple back-and-forth appointments. Fortunately, Dr. Henkin is pleased to provide an in-office dental lab to produce these restorations more efficiently. At Skyline Dental of Wayne, we can fabricate and place these custom creations in a single visit. Instead of spending your precious time maintaining multiple appointments, you can avoid temporaries and walk out the same day with a brand-new smile.

TMJ/TMD Therapy

Jaw pain is a concern that Dr. Henkin takes seriously. When you are unable to open and close your mouth properly, it can affect how you eat, speak, and experience daily life. The more strain and tension placed on the temporomandibular joints (TMJs), the more intense you can expect the pain to be. With a thorough examination, Dr. Henkin can determine the underlying cause of your TMJ discomfort and recommend appropriate treatment, such as Botox injections or ways to create a more balanced bite, so that you achieve long-lasting relief.

Patient Amenities

The dental experience you and your family can expect when arriving at Skyline Dental is one you will appreciate. We believe in creating a welcoming environment, one that promotes comfort while delivering patient-focused care. We achieve this by offering patient amenities, such as ceiling TVs, so that you can watch your favorite Netflix show. By helping you focus your attention on something other than your mouth, we make appointments less stressful for patients of all ages.
